Choose any of these fine cables… Mogami 2524, Gepco X-Band, Canare GS-6 or VTG Audio.
The typical tolerance for the measured length is (-0.0 / +0.5″). Therefore a 12 inch cable would be about 12.0″ to 12.5″ long measured as in the descriptions below. Metric Length Conversion: cm / 2.54 = inches.
Therefore a combination of right angle and straight plugs would be measured from the center of the right angle to the shoulder of the straight plug as shown.
One of the options is to have an “opposing/asymmetrical/S-shape” right angle plug configuration. The right angled plugs can be orientated in the opposite direction along the length of the cable, viewed when the cable is laying in a straight line. In some situations, opposing right angles let you avoid having to twist it into position. Please study this option carefully to avoid any confusion.
Top: Opposing “S” plug configuration.
Center: Standard right angle configuration.
Bottom: One right angle and one straight plug. Right angle orientation is insignificant when one end is straight.
G&H – Black gun metal or nickel plated finish.
The G&H BigFoot series “Show Savers” are designed and manufactured to be the most reliable in the industry and feature “Copper Core” technology. This means no loose grounds or broken tips while getting the highest fidelity signal. These distinctive plugs with the “copper tip” are the best in the world. They will spare you the embarrassment, time and cost of having to make repairs to your audio system due to plug failure. That translates into lasting value. You can be assured of many years of fail-safe operation.
Switchcraft – Nickel plated finish.
At Stompin-Ground, we really appreciate Switchcraft’s consistency of producing precision parts. Very reliable and well made. There’s a reason why they are a staple resource for studios and stage production companies. We use them exclusively for all our TRS connectors because they are simply the best TRS plugs available. Short frame straight vs. standard length straight plug
This is a detailed picture that shows the difference between a regular G&H straight plug and our exclusive short frame G&H plug. We use the G&H short frame plug by default for pedalboard patch cables. If you would like the regular length straight plug, just let us know in the optional notes above, the cart messages or in a separate email. The regular straight plugs have a somewhat stronger strain relief and in some cases it’s nice to have a little extra length on the handle to grasp.
Here’s an example showing eight of the strain relief colors we offer installed under the plug housings. Regular straight and right angle plugs are shown in this example with the black “gun metal” finish. Black tubing installed OVER the housings (not shown here but see “Length” section above) is still an available option however the tubing under the housing allows us to reinforce the strain relief a little better. If ordering strain relief OVER the housing, we will use nickel housings by default since it gets completely covered anyway.
Below are some nickel housings with the short frame straight plugs and right angles. Click to start a slide show. Further below are more close-ups of black housings standard straight plugs.

Tests were conducted on the G&H Show Saver™ by Chalice Studios in LA. “After countless hours of blind listening tests the G&H 1/4″ instrument connector was the clear winner. There is no question that they make the best sounding and most robust connector I have ever used. Even clients with name brand cables have asked to have the connectors changed after hearing how much of a sonic difference they make!”
